The first stage of the machine has an isolated dry water chamber (eliminates the need to fill the water chamber with oils or greases). This prevents freezing of moving parts of the machine, which is common when diving in cold waters.

The second stage of Apeks ATX 40 has a smooth control of operating parameters. Due to the fact that the valve is pneumatically loaded, the breathing parameters do not react to possible changes in pressure. In addition, it has a venturi control lever (which reduces fluid pressure by using a narrowed portion of the tube, which makes it easier to draw in the breath when you inhale). This allows free adjustment of the regulator's operating parameters depending on individual needs, depth and type of diving. The second stage also has a heat exchanger that protects it against freezing.
