Decompression buoys for divers - wide selection on Divezone.pl

Diving is an activity which requires a considerable equipment base. One of the necessary accessories for technical and wreck divers are decompression buoys. Their task is to assist in decompression and also to mark the place of ascent, which is useful during diving on the seas and oceans. The latter function ensures the diver's safety, as the decompression buoy is a signal for any water vehicles to keep the appropriate distance.

Decompression and signal buoys for divers - types

There are several types of decompression and signal buoys. The first, most general division is SMB and DSMB. SMB (Surface Marker Buoys) are buoys which only have a signalling function. They are visible on the water surface during the entire dive. They are attached to the diver with a line so that at all times it is known where the diver is.

DSMB (Delayed Surface Marker Buoys), on the other hand, are accessories that are released while underwater. They are used either for decompression or to signal some kind of failure or danger.

Due to the low popularity of strictly SMB buoys the term SMB or decompression buoy is now used for all buoys.

Decompression buoys - principle of operation

Decompression buoys are also divided into decompression buoys for divers and signal buoys. The first of them, as the name suggests, helps in safe decompression. To use them, you need to inflate them underwater. Depending on the conditions in which we dive and the purpose of using the buoy we choose a buoy which is 1m long up to a buoy which is 2m long!

Decompression buoys can also be divided according to their construction. We distinguish open type buoys which do not have any valve. They are the easiest to use and the most reliable. They can be inflated using an acetopus or an inflator without having to take it out of your mouth. The disadvantage is that on the surface air can escape from them. The second option is the duck-billed decompression buoy, or semi-closed buoy, which has an inflation and relief valve. It is inflated either by means of an acetopus or automatic inflator or through the inflator valve. The last version is a closed buoy. It is sewn together on all sides. It can be inflated using an inflator hose. It is the most frequently chosen model among wreck divers.

Lift buoy - what for?

Another type of accessories which you will find in this category are buoyancy buoys for divers. They come in handy when lifting heavy objects from the bottom when you want to take them to the surface.

All decompression, signal and buoyancy buoys available on Divezone.com are products of proven brands. They are made of durable and resistant materials and feature comfortable to use design. They are an essential piece of equipment for every diver.
