Diving masks - wide selection at Divezone.pl
A diving mask is the most basic piece of equipment for every diver. Its choice is very important, as our satisfaction with diving will depend on its good fitting, field of view and tightness.
Which mask for diving should I buy?
The mask you plan to buy should be made of the best quality materials, tempered glass and soft silicone, so that it fits well on your face and is safe.
When you think about which mask to choose, you should pay attention to what you want to use it for. It is important whether it will be used only for swimming on the surface (snorkeling) or shallow diving without cylinders on the reefs in Egypt, or whether you intend to dive with equipment.
Many people choose full face masks for snorkelling to start with, although the name is misleading. They are mainly used for swimming on the surface and admiring the underwater world from above. Of course, you can also dive under the water for a while holding your breath, but they are completely unsuitable for diving with equipment.
If you want to admire the underwater world longer and deeper, you need a completely different mask. We need a real diving mask. A mask that does not cover your mouth and allows you to breathe through a breathing machine.
We offer different types of diving masks:
- masks in sets with snorkels,
- single-panel masks (including frameless),
- double masks,
- panorama masks,
- corrective masks and
- full-face masks - for shallow diving and swimming on the surface
The choice is very large, so there is something for everyone. To help you choose the right mask, we will tell you more about diving masks. What characterizes them and what differs. I will try to answer the question: why exactly such a mask for diving should I get myself?
What is a panoramic diving mask?
Panoramic masks, as their name suggests, have large field of view. This is achieved by installing additional lenses on the side and sometimes also at the bottom. They are characterized by a large field of vision underwater. Its disadvantages include a large volume, so potentially more water to empty and the possibility of reflections on the glass especially when diving shallower and in strong sun.
Frameless mask - what is it?
Frameless masks are becoming increasingly popular. It is a type of mask which consists only of a silicone seal and lenses. Thanks to this, they have a very small surface and good access to the nose, which as all divers know is very important. Some of the best frameless masks are for example Tecline Frameless II, XDEEP Frameless and OMS Frameless.
Want to save money buying mask?
A decent and good quality mask comes at a price, but there is good news! Some companies sell their masks and snorkels in sets, which are much cheaper than buying them separately. One of the most popular global brands, producing probably the best masks and snorkels for diving, is TUSA and it is their kits that we recommend. Many customers buy these popular sets, because it is simply cheaper in a set and it is high class equipment. The most popular are TUSA mask + snorkel sets.
We sell masks of the best company!
If you want to buy a professional and solidly made mask which will serve you for years, you couldn't have chosen better. TUSA masks are the best and most popular diving masks in the world. We sell high quality products because we care about customer satisfaction.
Do you have a visual impairment?
If so, you have come to the right place! This is no challenge for us. Especially for people with impaired vision we sell diving masks with corrective lenses.
This option is available only in double-glazed masks. In most cases we can install corrective lenses in these masks. Why do we sell such products? Because we are aware of the fact that you can enjoy the underwater world even with a large visual impairment.
We install corrective lenses from -7 to even +8 dioptres in diving masks. Here, the leader is TUSA company that has the biggest choice of both corrective masks and lenses.
We install corrective glasses only in double-panic masks! It is not possible in single-pane and panoramic masks.
Do you have a problem when water gets into your ears?
I know that there are some people who really want to dive, but for health reasons it's not good for their ears to get cold water. There is a solution for that! The SCUBAPRO Pro Ear 1000 mask was created especially for such a situation. It protects not only your nose and eyes, but also your ears while allowing you to equalize pressure during the dive. Thanks to it, your ears will remain dry regardless of the depth you dive to and regardless of how long you dive for. This product prevents earaches and makes diving more comfortable and fun.
We also offer unusual and unique diving masks!
The TUSA M2001SQB mask has a UV lens so that it can be used for professional diving. A mask with these lenses protects against dangerous and harmful UV light, high-energy visible HEV light, and potential retinal damage.
Which diving mask for children?
When choosing a diving mask for a child, we must take into account that a child has a smaller head than an adult. Above all, a mask for a child must be smaller and fit perfectly on the child's face so that no water can get inside. The shape of the diving mask must provide adequate space for the nose and a large viewing angle. A diving mask should not be bought at the market or in a supermarket, because such equipment can be destroyed very quickly, and above all, it is usually not carefully made, and inadequate materials of low quality have been used. It is best to buy masks in professional online or stationary shops with sports and tourist equipment.
How to choose and fit a mask for diving?
The most important thing is that the mask is fitted to our face. Therefore it is necessary to try the mask on carefully.
You should do the following things one by one:
Place the mask on your face,
do not put on the strap,
draw air in through the nose - the mask should suck in,
tilt it slightly downwards. The mask should remain on your face throughout the breath-holding period.
Check that you can grasp the nose with your fingers. This should be easy to do. Check that your nose is not too close to the collar. If this is the case, look for a mask with a larger nose, as too tight a fit makes it difficult to blow out the mask.
Check in front of a mirror that the mask collar is in contact with your face. Any leaks are unacceptable as water must not get into the mask - if water gets into the mask it will not work. When doing this, the mask should be fitted together with the strap. Adjust the strap so that it presses lightly on the mask. The strap should not be tightened as this reduces comfort.
It is best to check the mask in water, for example at a swimming pool, by borrowing masks from friends or, if it is not possible, in a shop.
How a diving mask is constructed
A diving mask consists of a collar and a lens. The collar is called the part of the mask that adheres to the skin. Some people call it a gasket, but let's not go into details. Silicone is usually used here, usually in a light colour. The colour of the silicone only matters in that bright lets more light through, so we can see more of what's going on around us. The most important thing is that the collar should be wide enough so that no skin imperfections, change of facial expression or stubble will cause water to find a crack and flood our eyes.
For a long time glasses have not been made of glass but of more durable materials, such as polycarbonate. This material is the most common. It has the advantage of being unbreakable. However, polycarbonate is much easier to scratch than glass, so for safety and comfort underwater, we must be careful on the beach not to damage the mask. Above all, we have to be careful with sand, as it is also glass and can very easily break the mask glass.
Another subject is the type of glass. We can buy a single-paned mask, but also a double-paned one. Double-paned masks limit our field of vision with a silicon connector at the nose level, but they give us the possibility to mount corrective glasses. Single-pane masks are much more popular because of their wider field of vision. On the other hand, if you are visually impaired, you can wear lenses or even glasses, if you choose the right mask model taking their presence into account.
The mask will serve us for many years if we take care of it.
